Boban Markovic's orchestra to VästeråsThe Malar International Music Festival has made a diversion so that Boban Markovic's orchestra comes to Västerås and becomes an exuberant start to the fifth edition of the festival. Concert Hall 20:00. Bar is open from 19:00.

This year, we will start with a drink and a light menue for businesses and sponsors at the Friday and Saturday concerts. Friday August 21st at the Eskilstuna Theatre at 17.30 and the same time in Västerås on Saturday August 22nd in the Konserthus foyer. If you are interested please contact Tina Bilock on 0708-690909. Our Classical Jam Session after the evening concert will run as usual, from 21.00 after the 19.00 Festival concert on Thursday August 20th.

The Malar International Music Festival 2009 will take place both sides of Lake Mälaren! On August 20-23, it has been announced. The festival will be held in Västerås and Eskilstuna. We celebrate the visit of world famous conductor Okko Kamu who will perform as violinist. Soon you will be able to see the detailed programme and discover that apart from the Västerås Concert Hall will also make use of both the Västerås and Eskilstuna Theatres. Children's Opera will be back, fully updated and we will try a new variation on the Classic Jam Session.

The Malar International Music Festival changes Symphony Orchestra! Now it is official and ready. The reknowned Philharmonic Orchestra of Szczecin will be the Festival Orchestra of the Malar International Music Festival. The orchestra is lead by a talented conductor with great experience, Zygmunt Rychert, and will now familiarize themselves with the programme which include five days of concerts in Växjö and Västerås with more than ten artists.
